Awards 2023 – Say thank you and demonstrate your organisations social purpose

The Pennies from Heaven Awards remain a fantastic opportunity for small and large organisations to share their charitable successes and demonstrate their commitment to charitable giving. At a time when it is harder to give, it is even more important for employers to recognise the donations that staff have made. Your teams may not have noticed the penny donations each month, but they will be proud to be part of the collective celebration of winning an Award.

We also want to help employers share their success with their stakeholders. This year, all of our winners will receive a Pennies from Heaven Social Purpose Quality Mark. This endorsement can be used to support your ESG reporting as it formally recognises employers operating exceptional Pennies from Heaven schemes. The quality marks are valid for 12 months, until next year’s Awards.

In 2022, 55% of our Award winners’ workplaces had between 20% – 39% of employees participating in Pennies from Heaven. In our Platinum Award category 64% of winners saw take up rates above 50% and our highest rate hit 94%! Pennies from Heaven donations from NHS staff topped the £1.2m mark and 20% of our Award winners were NHS Trusts and Organisations. I am sure this year we will beat this figures again.

Platinum Awards are given to employers with more than 40% of employees participating in the scheme, Gold Awards are given to employers with 20% – 39% of employees participating in the scheme, Silver Awards are given to employers with 15% – 19% of employees participating in the scheme and Bronze Awards are given to employers with 10% – 14% of employees participating in the scheme.
