Goral Coral Group is delighted to announce it is working with coin collection expert, Pennies from Heaven to raise vital funds for its nominated charity of the year, Sue Ryder Care.
 
The Group, comprised of five divisions; Coral, Gala Bingo, Gala Casino, E-Commerce and their International division is offering its 19,000 employees the opportunity to donate the pennies on their pay-slips to the leading healthcare charity by simply signing a ‘Pennies from Heaven Scheme Authorisation Form’.  The maximum donation is set at 99 pence per person per pay-slip, with all money donated going direct to help Sue Ryder Care continue to deliver expert and compassionate care to people living with conditions including Cancer, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Acquired Brain Injury nationwide.               
 
Dr. Colin Morgan, Group Corporate Responsibility Manager at Gala Coral, said, “It’s a fantastic way to raise much needed money for Sue Ryder Care and it’s as simple as a signature.  We are asking Gala Coral employees if they notice the pennies on their wage slips and would they miss them? And, if the answer is no, then donate them to Sue Ryder Care and let their pennies help the charity make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of people it cares for.”
 
Gala Coral selected Sue Ryder Care as its group charity in July 2008 after an employee vote showed overwhelming support for the charity.  The Gala Coral Group has pledged to raise one million pounds for the charity over the next 18 months. 
 
Colin said, “Since we announced Sue Ryder Care as our nominated charity earlier this year, as well as adopting the Pennies from Heaven scheme to raise money, employees from across the group have been hosting a variety of fundraising events.  Thanks to the enthusiasm of our employees and support at Sue Ryder Care we are well on our way to achieving our overall fundraising target of raising one million pounds for the charity.”    
 
Anthony Law, Managing Director of Pennies from Heaven, said, “We are delighted that Gala Coral staff have been given the opportunity to give their pennies to Sue Ryder Care via this simple scheme.  Whilst as individuals the amounts are small, but if all of Gala Coral’s staff got involved, in excess of £150,000 per year could be raised. Who said that pennies don’t add up!”
 
All money raised from Gala Coral employees signing up to the Pennies from Heaven Scheme is vital funds that will help Sue Ryder Care continue to deliver specialist palliative and neurological care to people living with serious illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones.  Last year Sue Ryder Care delivered 4 million hours of care to people who need it most and with the help of money raised through its partnership with Gala Coral, Sue Ryder Care’s vision is to provide over 10 million hours of care by 2018.
