Launching ‘Pennies from Heaven’ in the NHS
Do you know how many pennies were on your last payslip?
From September all NHS Organisations live on ESR (Electronic Staff Record) will be able to offer their employees the option to donate the spare pennies from their payslips. ESR has been configured to make this happen, thus providing a great opportunity for individuals to make a real difference.
This quite simply means that with 1,200,000 employees NHS Organisations in England & Wales could in the future raise a total of £8.6m for the charity sector via the running of Pennies from Heaven.
Over the next two years as Organisations ‘go live’ with ESR each will be invited to join Pennies from Heaven.
Anthony Law, Managing Director of Pennies from Heaven, says: “we are naturally delighted to be provided with the chance to introduce the scheme to the largest employer in the country & look forward very much to working with the NHS to further increase the number of persons giving their pennies in the UK to charity”
Pennies from Heaven is the UK’s fastest growing coin collection scheme. In its sixth year it now has many of the UK’s largest employers both in the public & private sectors running the scheme with in excess of 40 charities benefiting. To date the company has raised over £700,000 for a variety of charities through this simple mechanism of rounding down salaries to the nearest pound and donating the spare pennies (with gift aid) to charity.
