O2 PEOPLE ARE NOW ABLE TO GIVE THEIR SPARE PENNIES EACH MONTH TO WESTON SPIRIT
O2 People will be given the opportunity to join the Pennies from Heaven scheme and donate on an ongoing basis the pennies left on their salary each month to benefit O2’s charity of choice; Weston Spirit. The charity aims to tackle issues of social exclusion in young people through an innovative range of personal development programmes.
PFH is the UK’s fastest growing coin collection scheme. In its fifth year it now has many of the UK’s largest organisations benefiting from the scheme, such as Barclays, Aviva, Morgan Stanley and the Virgin Group. To date the company has raised over £600,000 for a variety of charities through the simple mechanism of rounding down salaries to the nearest pound and donating the spare pennies (with gift aid) to charity.
Vikki Leach, Corporate Communications at O2 said: “By offering the Pennies from Heaven scheme this will enable O2 people to become involved with our ‘Can Do Giving’ campaign to support our UK charity partner; Weston Spirit.
Simon Weston said: “This is a great initiative by O2 and a fantastic opportunity for employees to give those extra pennies each month to the charity. Pennies from Heaven is an effective way to involve employees in giving and shows that the pennies really will add up.”
This is both motivating and rewarding work knowing that we have the potential to raise millions each year for good causes”, says Anthony Law, Managing Director of Pennies from Heaven.
